Craig Schuetze
Humanities

Craig Schuetze joins the Sequoyah School community after more than a decade in higher education. While pursuing two PhDs, he taught classes in creative writing, anthropology, philosophy, urban studies, Latin American Studies, Iyengar yoga, and capoeira in both the U.S. and Brazil. He speaks French, Portuguese, and Spanish. Having grown up working in his parents’ bookstore, Craig’s broad reading habits led him to pursue interdisciplinary studies. After receiving bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and anthropology, he pursued master’s research in French literature and ethnographic fieldwork in southern France. His PhD research examines the cultural and racial dynamics of road rage in Brazil. He also co-led a decade-long research project on anthropology and BioArt, which culminated in several exhibits and a book.
