Monica Menez
Monica Meñez
Co-Director of Communications

Monica has more than a decade of experience in marketing, writing, design, and outreach across education and health and human services. Before joining the Sequoyah School community, she served as the director of marketing and communications at Foothill Family, whose prevention and early intervention work in our local communities focus on empowering underserved populations through mental health care and early childhood development programs. Prior to that, Monica was part of the development office at Westridge School and spent the last six years of her tenure there as the school’s director of communications.

A graduate of UCLA, where she earned her BA in sociology and gerontology, Monica is a first-generation Filipina-American whose cultural care for elders is steeped in her blood and shared across human and animal populations. She is likewise passionate about caring for the younger end of the spectrum and is an active volunteer supporting Girls on the Run Los Angeles as a coach, 826LA as a writing tutor, and CASA of Los Angeles as a court-appointed special advocate for a remarkable young man navigating the challenges of the foster system. An avid runner, hiker, and traveler, her favorite trips are isolated and active and have included multi-day treks through Patagonia, Mongolia, Colombia, Iceland, and to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
