Yvonne Chiu Hays

Yvonne Chiu Hays, M.S.Ed., received her bachelor’s degree in history from Dartmouth College and earned a master’s degree in psychological services with credentials in K-12 school counseling from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.

She started her work with middle and high school students in an intensive clinical setting before shifting her focus to creating programs in everyday spaces to promote prevention and early intervention in ways that can help children and young adults create connections, embrace healing, and find joy.

She has worked as a counselor in both public and private school settings in the Atlanta metropolitan area, Los Angeles County, and Orange County, including La Cañada and St. Margaret’s high schools.

Yvonne’s work at Sequoyah School focuses on student wellbeing and mental health. Through her leadership of the human development program, Yvonne is responsible for a curricular approach to students’ social and emotional education and will be available to support students on a one-on-one basis as needed.
