Calina comes to Sequoyah after more than a decade of experience in higher education, both as a graduate student and an instructor. She has taught at institutions including Emerson College, the U.S. Naval Academy, and Duke University, where she received her Ph.D. in English. She also holds an A.B. from Harvard and an M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge, both in English. She is delighted to be joining Sequoyah’s nurturing and inspiring learning community and grateful to be able to share her love of literature and the humanities with her students. She is passionate about gender equity and loves animals, and is looking forward to connecting her students with animal rescue organizations in the area. In her spare time, she loves hiking, horseback riding, and spending time with her partner and their fur-pack, which consists of two sweet pups and two saucy felines.
