Director of Learning Services

Liz Kyle is Sequoyah’s K-12 Director of Learning Services, overseeing the K-8 Learning Services team and serving as the high school Learning Specialist. Learning Services, part of Sequoyah’s Student Support department, provides academic accommodations and resources for students with disabilities.

Liz is a certified Educational Therapist with the Association of Educational Therapists and holds a Master’s in Educational Therapy from California State University, Northridge. Her thesis explored the parallels between academic homework and music practice. A Berklee College of Music graduate, Liz has released four albums and continues to write, record, and perform locally.

Her music background aids in uncovering patterns, listening, and working with Sequoyah’s students, families, and faculty. Liz has supported students K-12 as a Learning Specialist at Viewpoint School and Saint Mark’s School.

Originally from San Francisco, Liz attended progressive schools like Sequoyah (Nueva, Marin Academy) and served on the Alumni Board at The Hamlin School, where her strengths and needs as a student were first recognized and supported. Her experience as a twice-exceptional learner inspires her to empower and advocate for neurodivergent people, equitably allocate resources, challenge deficit thinking, and stay connected to current research in the learning sciences.

When she’s not at school, Liz enjoys playing and listening to music, writing songs, swimming, and reading.
