Upcoming High School Admissions Events
Events: October-January for Fall 2025 entry
We look forward to introducing you to Sequoyah School through our information sessions, tours, and online panels and discussions! Register for one of our upcoming events today; for a complete listing of all high school events, visit the calendar below.
The Application Process
Sequoyah’s application process is holistic; we ask for multiple records and data points so we can get a full picture of each applicant.
It is strongly recommended that student applicants and their parents/guardians attend an information session as part of the application process and in advance of the student interview.
Step One: Interest Form
Complete an online Interest Form to receive invitations to events and reminders about the process. Our Family Portal will generate an email to set up a log-in so you can manage your visits and application.
Step Two: Apply Online
Begin the application using the log-in information provided after submitting the online Interest Form. Follow your assigned application checklist steps when applying to ensure you are submitting all required materials.
The application is to be filled out by a parent/guardian, with a section for high school applicants to complete.
Step Three: Transcripts
Applicants should provide at least three (3) years of official transcripts to Sequoyah School. Transcripts may be emailed by your school’s registrar through the online checklist. If needed, submit the transcript release form to the student’s current school to give permission for that school to send your transcripts to us.
Step Four: Recommendation Forms
From this step in the application checklist, submit a request to the applicant’s teachers to complete Sequoyah’s recommendation form.
- All applicants will request two recommendation forms—one from a math teacher and one from an English or history teacher.
- Applicants seeking to transfer in grades 10-12 will also submit an administrator recommendation in addition to math and English/history teacher recommendations.
Step Five: Applicant Interviews
Applicants will be contacted to set up an interview after the application has been received.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, gender, gender identity, or family structure in the administration of our educational, personnel or admissions policies, financial aid programs, or other school-administered programs.
Indexed Tuition
Sequoyah’s Indexed Tuition program allows families to pay a tuition level based on financial means. We dedicate a significant portion of operating revenue to support the tuition index, with 30 to 40 percent of our families paying less than the maximum tuition level.
Applicants planning to apply for Indexed Tuition should do so at the same time they apply for admission.

A Note on Tests and Assessments
Sequoyah School does not require standardized test results as part of the admissions process. If the applicant has a previous ISEE or SSAT score that is more representative of academic ability than their grades, they may include it as part of the application.
High School Student Perspectives
Sequoyah School students share what’s unique about the high school and how the faculty and curriculum engage their love of learning, foster healthy relationships with teachers, and provide a focused approach to education that broadens their horizons.
