Assistant Director of Field Studies

Alex (she/her) brings over a decade of experience in outdoor, experiential, and classroom education to her role as Sequoyah’s Assistant Director of Field Studies. She has facilitated programs across a wide range of landscapes in Alaska, Washington, California, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Thailand, and Hong Kong. In addition to her field experience, Alex has worked as a middle school classroom teacher and enjoys the intersection of classroom and outdoor learning. Driven by a belief that the outdoors is a powerful vehicle for driving social-emotional learning, youth development and fostering real-world academic engagement, Alex is passionate about creating meaningful, student-centered learning experiences.
