Originally from Georgia, Bailey began her interest in education by mentoring a middle school improvisation troupe as a high school student. She graduated from Georgia College and State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education (4th-8th), concentrating in Social Studies and Language Arts. Performing Arts continued to be a source of inspiration for her, working as the coordinator and technical director of the school musical and Talent Show, while teaching 7th- and 8th-grade Social Studies in Alpharetta, Georgia for five years.
After obtaining a master’s degree in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia, she moved to California to pursue a career in Educational Technology and has been working as Sequoyah’s Educational Technology Specialist ever since. She continues to support the arts by working closely with the Theater and Music departments throughout the school year.
Bailey teaches students in grades 2-8 Technology concepts such as Digital Citizenship, typing, coding/programming, as well as Design Thinking using Makerspace tools. She also teaches High School Robotics as a Z-Block and serves as the coach for the Junior High and High School Robotics teams. Bailey can typically be found in the Thinkering Tank on the upper K-8 campus.
