Carolyn Stirling joined Sequoyah in 2018 after spending most of her career working in higher education. Originally from California, Carolyn grew up in different states due to her father’s military career, an experience that instilled in her a passion for helping others to feel connected and find their purpose.
Carolyn received her BA in English from UC Irvine (where she read lots of books and took a musical theater class) and her MA in Counseling in Student Affairs from UCLA (where she worked with fraternities and sororities). In 2012, Carolyn earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from USC (where she was known to write papers during football games at the Los Angeles Coliseum).
A member of P.E.O. International, an organization that furthers women’s educational opportunities through low-interest loans and scholarships, Carolyn enjoys traveling, all things Disney, and the Huntington Library. She feels Sequoyah is a gift that keeps on giving and that she has found her community here!
