One of the founding members of Sequoyah’s high school faculty, Chelsea is a science educator who has taught students and teachers across K–12 and higher education. She holds a Ph.D. from UCLA, where her research focused on cancer genetics and best practices in science education. Her previous work at Sequoyah helped design an inquiry-driven, culturally responsive science program built on rigorous investigation and deep questioning rather than rote memorization.
Recently, Chelsea has been helping teachers and students understand emerging technologies so educators remain at the center of decisions about tech’s role in the classroom, and students become critical, informed consumers of technology rather than passive users. We are happy to welcome her back to the Sequoyah family!
