Jeffrey (he/him) joins Sequoyah after 28 years as a trauma-informed psychotherapist in New York City. Early in his clinical career, Jeffrey ran a specialized mentoring program at the Children’s Aid Society for youth receiving counseling through Brooklyn and Manhattan Family Court. Within his private practice, Jeffrey has utilized a somatic therapy approach to help heal multi/intergenerational trauma for youth and adults, incorporating Nature and Forest Therapy and the Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guided approach.
Jeffrey has also been a psychological consultant for independent schools for 16 years. For 13 of those years, Jeffrey developed an equity and anti-oppression curriculum for youth, faculty, and staff at various schools and national diversity conferences.
Before working at independent schools, Jeffrey received his undergraduate degree in Modern Dance from SUNY Brockport College, focusing on Afro-Brazilian dance and culture. He was a professional Modern dancer who toured nationally and internationally. He earned his Master of Social Work degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at CUNY Hunter College.
