Laura Medley has led the Out Back since 2020 and has been an educator for more than 15 years. Her past experience includes working as a naturalist and developing place-based learning curriculum, teaching pre-kindergarten for the South Pasadena School District and working for several years as an associate teacher in Egret’s Perch. She is especially passionate about sparking her student’s love for reading!
Laura earned her degree in nature and culture from UC Davis, where she studied California history and ecology, among other disciplines. Laura finds inspiration in fields of flowers, garden corners, the redwood forest, and cool morning bike rides along the Arroyo Seco. You can also find her at the baseball field where she proudly cheers on her teenage son.
