Jen Cardillo (she/her) is the Dean of Students at Polytechnic School and previously served as one of the Upper School Deans at Harvard-Westlake School, where she provided academic advising and college counseling to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Jen worked in three east coast independent schools before moving with her family to California in 2016: Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts; Thayer Academy in Braintree, Massachusetts; and Concord Academy in Concord, Massachusetts. Her career in schools has included teaching history and English; fulfilling leadership roles as Director of Admissions and Director of Financial Aid; serving as Concord Academy’s first Assistant Dean for Community and Equity; and has experience in college counseling, coaching field hockey and track, and supporting student affinity groups. Sequoyah is her third school board; she was previously a trustee at Belmont Day School in Belmont, Massachusetts and at Cambridge Friends School in Cambridge, MA, the Quaker school that both of her children attended for elementary school. She has served on head search, schedule redesign, and re-accreditation committees. Jen earned a BA in History and Literature from Harvard College and began working as an educator immediately after her undergraduate studies. She has a daughter, Lila, who has worked at Sequoyah as a classroom aide and as a counselor at Sequoyah Summerhouse, and a son named Miles.
