Laura (she/her) is a lawyer and consultant who has worked for a broad range of private companies and nonprofit organizations. Early in her legal career, she balanced antitrust litigation with pro bono civil rights matters. More recently, she helped found a fintech company that used artificial intelligence to improve credit options for the underbanked. As that company’s General Counsel, she managed regulatory compliance programs, an intellectual property portfolio, and litigation strategy. Laura also provided strategic, legal, and organizational development advice for organizations focused on racial and economic justice, voting rights, and LGBTQ+ rights. She continues to provide pro bono legal services to marginalized individuals and communities. Laura has a JD from Berkeley Law School and joined Sequoyah’s Board in 2016. She lives in Silver Lake with her husband and two Sequoyah high school students who have been at the school since kindergarten.
