Alina Mehdi is thrilled to be rejoining the Sequoyah community as Lead Teacher of Egret’s Perch. After working as part of Sequoyah’s daycare staff, Alina spent the following two years as an AmeriCorps member, where she taught 3rd/4th grade in Echo Park. At the same time, she received her teaching credential and Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount University. She cares deeply about equitable education and aims to meet the unique needs of every student in her classroom.
Alina grew up in South Pasadena, California. She received her undergraduate degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California. In her free time, Alina enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and exploring LA’s best restaurants.
