Ian (he/him) joins Sequoyah after completing his PhD in American history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before beginning his PhD, Ian taught high school in inner-city Detroit and rural Mississippi. He has also taught English and history at his alma mater, Moravian Academy, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In addition to teaching humanities, Ian is excited to coach the debate team and work with Sequoyah’s talented students.
