After receiving an Associate of Arts and Letters degree from Citrus Community College, Joey enrolled at Cal State LA where he finished his BA in English. Joey is excited to be a lead teacher at Sequoyah; he has a strong interest in progressive education and hopes to be able to foster the importance of lifelong learning, moral accountability, and self-empowerment in students. Joey spends his free time reading voraciously, scribbling short stories, and adventuring by bike through the Angeles Crest National Forest and elsewhere.
